Update: The fundraiser was a success!

In two weeks we sold 160 shirts and raised $2639 for donation. I am currently working on a company matching that will double the total I can distribute to the organizations below. In all this time I have not been able to get in contact with anyone from Black Futures Lab. If someone out there can help me assure their 501c3 status I would appreciate it. Otherwise the funds will be distributed to the other 3 organizations listed below who have communicated with me about their process. Thank you EVERYONE who participated, encouraged and bought shirts for this cause. Wear Your Support for BIPOC!

The BIPOC community needs social justice and we can help. Bloom for BIPOC is a fundraiser based on the mural Raised Fists Blossom painted on the Oakland Tribune Tower during Black Lives Matter protests in May. By participating in this fundraiser you will raise money and awareness for organizations working to 1) defund the police, 2) meet the immediate needs of the BIPOC community and 3) amplify their voices. Scroll down to learn more about the organizations who will benefit. To participate, purchase a tee with the image of Raised Fists Blossom.  Display it proudly and use it as an invitation to courageous conversations about racism. ​About the Art

Raised Fists Blossom is a mural painted in response to the killing of George Floyd in solidarity with resulting protests. In developing it, I chose an image rooted in the history of social uprising. The fist of power has been used by labor and civil rights movements going back at least as far as the French Revolution and it has grown to be a symbol in the Black Lives Matter movement. Raised Fists Blossom asserts that when we come together, from the fist of resistance, something more beautiful can blossom. Right now we must all come together and blossom for the black community.
